Call for Participants and Speakers

TEDx Edmonton takes place on Saturday, March 13, 2010. Our theme this year is “Cultivating the Creative Economy”. We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes to make TEDx Edmonton an event you won’t forget. As promised, we’re now opening up a call for participants and speakers!

Apply to Attend TEDx Edmonton
We’re looking for the city’s most passionate, inspired and creative individuals to join us. If you feel you fit the bill, tell us why and what you’ll share and bring to the table! Click here to apply now – http://www.tedxedmonton.com/attend.

Propose to Speak at TEDx Edmonton
We’re on the lookout for extraordinary voices in our community who have a unique story or an unusual perspective on our theme – and who can convey it in a dynamic way. Click here to submit a speaker proposal now – http://www.tedxedmonton.com/speakers.

Submissions will be accepted until 12:00 MST on Monday, February 8. Your application will be reviewed by our committee and if you’re successful, an invite will be sent to you on Friday, February 26.

Like other TED events, TEDx Edmonton aims to inspire productive discussion among a small and diverse group of passionate and creative doers and thinkers from across the city. So at this time, TEDx Edmonton is an invitation-only event. While we would love to open the event up to as many people as possible, we are limited by our license from TED to host an intimate gathering for no more than 100 people. For those of you who aren’t able to attend in person, you’ll still have the opportunity to take in the day’s events through our free live webcast.

TEDx Edmonton is a not-for-profit event hosted by artsScene Edmonton. Tickets to the event will be $99 to cover the costs of the event and to ensure that everyone confirms their attendance. Your ticket will also include access to the artsScene Edmonton after party.

We look forward to your submissions and hope to see you on March 13!
