Ken Bautista, Chair

Ken Bautista is the CEO and co-founder of Rocketfuel Games, an award-winning producer of interactive learning games that you play online and in the real world. Their first title, Discovery Kids: Seek Your Own Proof, is a puzzle adventure game where kids investigate science and history as secret agents. Ken has also been recognized in Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 and was featured in Alberta Venture Magazine’s “Next Up” series. Ken is also the co-founder of next gen initiatives artsScene Edmonton, Startup Edmonton, TEDxEdmonton and Flightpath Ventures, all aimed at making Edmonton a hotbed for creativity and entrepreneurship.

 

Sam Jenkins, Co-Chair

Sam is an entrepreneur, a volunteer, a community organizer, an advocate and a technology evangelist. Sam is the Director of Business Development for iomer internet solutions inc. Sam is also involved in several community initiatives. He is the current President of Fringe Theatre Adventures, the organization that produces the Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival. Sam is also Co-Chair of artsScene Edmonton, a board member of Startup Edmonton, an organizer behind The Edmonton Champions Project and a co-founder of FlightPath Ventures. Sam is a proud graduate of the University of Alberta School of Business.

 

Cam Linke, Co-Chair

Cam Linke is a software entrepreneur and startup community evangelist in Edmonton. He is the co-founder of Startup Edmonton, brought DemoCamp to Edmonton two years ago to build the tech community, and continues to work building resources and networks for startups in the city. Recently having worked at one of Edmontonʼs brightest tech startups, Nexopia.com, Cam is now building a software company to help people deliver great experiences with mobile applications.

 

Tiffany Linke-Boyko, Operations Director

As Operations Director for Startup Edmonton and artsScene Edmonton, Tiffany is involved in organizing, coordinating and delivering a range of programs and events such as DemoCamp, Startup Weekend, artsScene Behind the Scenes and TEDxEdmonton. Previously, Tiffany spent the last eight years with Extreme Dream Ministries as an event organizer planning youth conferences all over Canada and overseas. Some of her highlights have been organizing a conference at a soccer stadium in Malawi, Africa and organizing the annual YC Alberta that takes place each May at Rexall Place in Edmonton with 16,000 delegates.

 

Marc Carnes

Marc has over 13 years of professional arts and non-profit management experience from all over Canada, including most recently serving as Director of Community Relations for the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and Francis Winspear Centre for Music. He is an active volunteer and supporter of a number of organizations in Edmonton, linking his passion for the arts and its role in building a world-class creative city.

 

Pamella Heikel

Pamella has been involved in the marketing and communications industry in Alberta for the last 10 years, and has been an active member in the Advertising Club of Edmonton and IABC (International Association of Business Communicators). She has expanded her repertoire and developed her skills as a project manager and account executive by working with two Edmonton-based agencies, Calder Bateman Communications and Incite Marketing. In 2009, Pamella launched her own marketing and communications company, Cool Communications. When she is not working or contributing to her community, Pamella enjoys writing (published poet), cooking (local and organic), taking a time out in nature, traveling, mentoring young professionals, and visiting her family in Egypt with her husband.

 

Christy Holtby

Christy is a passionate advocate of world-class healthcare and the non-profit sector. Currently the Director of Fund Development for the University Hospital Foundation, Christy works with Annual Giving and new e-Philanthropy initiatives. Prior to this role, she established the Edmonton Branch of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for Canada’s Prairie Region and worked in development and health promotion with the Arthritis Society and the Ontario Lung Association. A graduate of Queen’s University, Christy is an active volunteer with a number of organizations in town, including her alumni association, TEDxEdmonton and artsScene. She also sits on the Board of the local chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) where she holds the Government Relations portfolio.

 

Alana Williams

Having spent her University years cultivating business acumen thinking she’d be an accountant or lawyer, Alana craved creative industry in her life and found herself drawn to advertising. She now has over 9 years experience in Edmonton’s advertising community where she currently holds a position as Account Supervisor with RED The Agency. She remains a strong advocate and supporter of creative industry through volunteer work with the Advertising Club of Edmonton, artsScene Edmonton and TEDxEdmonton.

 

Cary Williams

Cary Williams spent many years working on developing a career in getting-the-hell-out-of-Edmonton. After travelling and working in international business, he came to the realization that not only is Edmonton home, but it’s a fantastic place to live IF someone is willing to make things happen. In that vane, Cary has built a successful wealth and insurance advisory practice and keeps making things happen through community development initiatives. After chairing the City of Edmonton’s Next Gen Committee – for which he was chosen by Avenue Magazine as one of 2009’s Top 40 Under 40 – Cary is now helping organize the 30th anniversary gala of the Manning Innovation Awards, which will be in Edmonton in October 2011. In addition, he is an active member of The Edmonton Champions Project, which is working to develop 500 creative Edmonton entrepreneurs over the next 5 years.

 

Miranda Wulf

Miranda Wulf is an Edmonton-based entrepreneur who specializes in image consulting and personal styling. Receiving her certification through the London Image Institute and the Image Resource Center of New York, her mission is to empower people to look and feel their best by teaching them how to develop their own personal style specific to career, goals, lifestyle, age and personality. Passionate about community, creativity and innovation, Miranda is a natural connector and loves to see people from various walks of life come together and sharpen one another to create brilliance. Look for her upcoming monthly column in Unlimited Magazine online as she advises professional men and women on how to approach their careers with confidence, enthusiasm and panache.
